Brewing
With two autonomous brew groups, the Gaggia GD lets the barista multi-task as needed to keep pace with steady guest traffic. A 13-liter copper boiler, dedicated heat exchangers and a 165-watt Procon pump keep the GD well prepared for brewing and frothing operations. The group heads are made of heavy-duty chrome plated brass and are equipped with thermostat-controlled brew group heaters to deliver temperature-stable brewing environments. For easy tracking, there is digital display option is available to show the total number of drinks made per coffee button.
Electric Cup Heater
The GD 2-Group Machine has an integrated electric cup heater. Cups can be set directly on top of the machine to be pre-heated. The cup warmer can be turned on or off as necessary.
Steaming and Frothing
There are two stainless steel steam wands on opposite sides of the machine, each mounted on ball joints and can be rotated to accommodate different-sized frothing pitchers. The steam wands both feature four-hole steam tips for your convenience. The GD is also compatible with the Gaggia Cappuccinatore (not included) to allow for automated frothing capabilities.
Hot Water Dispenser
Unlike most espresso machines, the Gaggia GD 2 Group has a dedicated hot water dispenser mounted right next to the brew group to let the barista easily dispense hot water for a variety of drinks. Since the dispenser is built into to the front of the machine, cups can be set directly onto the drip tray. Furthermore, a mixing valve eliminates steam output from the hot water dispenser for safe operation. The mixing valve can be turned on or off, which will deliver even hotter water.
